I got to take in the beauty of the drive through Shasta, thanks to AAA and the several hour tow.
I called AAA just south of the Cali/OR boarder, and they came in 30 minutes! A cop had found me a few minutes after I broke down, and corrected my location for AAA to find me. You’ll never believe this, but then AAA drove me 130 miles to Redding so I wouldn’t get caught in the snow storm heading south. Besides driving me through Shasta faster than I would have driven myself, the town truck driver was so kind and got me to a great mechanic in Redding before 5pm. I was in and out in 20 minutes, with only a $75 part that was replaced. My trip to SF was only delayed 1.5 hours that day. An angel escorted me the whole way.Plus, I’d just updated to AAA plus a few days before, whew.
I had the craziest drive from Portland, OR to San Francisco last week. Just missed a show storm in PDX that followed me south. Woke up at 6am by a crazy squatter lady squatting at my friend’s place in Ashland, which luckily got me on the road early that day. Made it through the bends of the Siskiyou Mountains as my car died on the side of the road, just south of the Cali/Or border.
