Purple Cauliflower

Look what I picked up at the Farmers' Market…. beautiful purple and green cauliflower. I love the purple for its' color, plus it contains  anthocyanins to help regular blood sugar levels and body weight while lowering our cancer risk. Both green and purple cauliflower contain glucoraphanin which converts into anti-cancer compounds in the body. Both are great fresh, organic, detox, raw food. I typically gravitate to the color green, along with kale and brussel sprouts…..so, remind myself to eat the colors of the rainbow along with many different vegetables and varieties to ensure I get the full spectrum of vitamins, minerals, and nutrients my body needs. An easy way to mix it up is the pick various colors at the farmers' market. What goodies did  you find at your local farmers' market this weekend?

Giving Thanks Pre-Workout

Today's Thanksgiving workout: Straight arm planks - 5 sets of 3 mins each for core strength 5 sets of 3 minute wall sits 30 min brisk walk with Kanga dog This helps me fire up my muscles to burn extra calories today. TIP: Drink lots of water and eat your veggies first at your Thanksgiving meal. Let's give thanks for the food we have to eat, break bread with friends and family, and count our many blessings today and everyday! Rather than stress out about the perfect diet today, it's most important to have our attitude of gratitude. Enjoy all the love that's gone into the making of all the food we eat today. Grateful and giving thanks to you all: my friends, family, community. Love you! xo

2013 Regional Champion

I'm now the Regional Champion in Powerlifting for Bench Press in Southern California! Placed GOLD at the competition on Saturday, and I'm absolutely thrilled. It was a serious 3 1/2 months of watching my foods, counting calories, monitoring macronutrients, all through whole raw and vegan unprocessed foods. They do say nutrition is 70% of our results. And, no drinking too! Now, I'm taking this week to rest and recover, and will start up training again soon for the next State Competition in 2014. Next time, I'm going for State Champion!

KennyG at BiteSizedTV for NetKAL

Kenny G speaks with me about his support of NetKAL, love of Koreans and Korean Americans, and his new projects at BiteSized TV studios on Sunset Strip in Hollywood, CA on Saturday. He's been a big supporter for our USC (University of Southern California) Network of Korean American Leadership program over the past couple years. Good match since Asian seem to really love KennyG's tunes. But then again, who doesn't love Jazz? Thanks KennyG!
